Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress has received several awards for her work which includes an Oscar. The talented actress began her career as an actor in the theatre by performing in a myriad of Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. Acting has always been her passion. In fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller in an original production. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one of her ear canals, but that didn't stop the actress from fulfilling her dream. She studied drama at college after which she moved from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter was able to make her Broadway debut after an unplanned encounter and Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The first time she appeared in a film was after she relocated to Los Angeles. Her career spans more than 30 years and she's appeared in numerous TV shows, films and series. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
